Students given opportunity to play on the pitch at Wolves

21/05/2019

Students applying to the University of Wolverhampton were given the chance to play on the pitch at Wolves as part of a special event.

The session at Molineux was aimed at students applying to study Sports courses at the University and also enabled them to meet with staff and current students.

Sports coaching lecturers led the session at the Premier League team’s stadium on Friday, 17 May 2019, which was attended by 25 prospective students.

PLAY-ON-THE-PITCH

Dr Chris Sellars, Head of Partnerships at the University’s Institute of Human Sciences, said: “We invited applicants from a range of sports courses to experience what it is like to play on the pitch at Molineux but also to meet staff and current students to talk about the courses and the opportunities they will get as part of their studies.

“We put a lot of emphasis on applied skills and working with partners and Wolves FC is a big partner of ours, so this was a chance to come down and experience some of that.

“We hope that applicants were also able to chat to students and our lecturers about what will be expected of them on the course and what the exciting features are, such as working with Wolves on our Football Coaching degree and how our Sport and Exercise Science students work with the Academy on things like fitness tests.”
