Annual Research Conference
ARC 2019
Monday 17 – Tuesday 18 June 2019

This is the only conference for all research staff, research students and staff who support research, to showcase research, build networks, participate, and connect with staff and students from across the University. The two days are split as follows:

Day 1 - research presentations

Day 2 - research presentations and poster competition

Call for Papers/Contributions

This year the theme of the conference is ‘Addressing Societal Challenges’.

We welcome contributions from staff of all disciplines, topics, and stages of research. We want to know how your research is responsible, relates to the university, society or the wider research community.

We’d like you to choose how you present your research, options include:

  • Presenting a paper
  • Round table discussions
  • Submitting a poster
  • Performance/screening/artefacts
  • Short talks (10 mins) on developing research projects
  • Pecha Kucha - a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (six minutes and 40 seconds in total). The format keeps presentations concise and fast-paced.

This is a great opportunity to showcase your project in a supportive academic environment and receive feedback to inform the development of your research. You can present alone or with your colleagues/research students.

Submission

Please submit for consideration details of your proposed contribution/abstract (up to 300 words), including your chosen presentation style,  to Jill Morgan (j.morgan4@wlv.ac.uk ). When preparing your submission please remember that your audience is non-specialist and content should be accessible to the general public. You should also indicate the impact or potential for impact in the research.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is noon on Monday 8 April 2019
