University Carol Service - Call for musicians and choirs

The University Carol Service has been a much loved occasion in the academic year for decades.

Held at St Peter's Church in Wolverhampton City Centre it is a mix of congregational carols and performance items. Over the past year Lead Chaplain Reverend Sarah Schofield has become aware that there are many musically talented staff and students who are gathering together to sing or play music. The Chaplaincy would like to invite contributions to our Christmas events, the Carol Service in the afternoon of Wednesday 11th December and our pop up carol singing sessions around campus.

For the Carol Service we are looking for people who are able to perform to a reasonable standard, being a good amateur is enough. You would need to be able to propose what you would like to do, arrange your own rehearsals (the chaplaincy building and piano can be used) and perform in front of around 300 people. We are limited to 3 to 4 performance items so may need to shortlist.

For the 'pop up carols' you simply need enthusiasm and to indicate your interest by emailing sarah.schofield@wlv.ac.uk

The Carol Service itself will take place at 3.15pm on Wednesday 11th December
