Wellbeing checks

Students and staff can book a free wellbeing check consisting of a 15 minute private consultation

There are lots of factors that inevitably affect our wellbeing and health. Whether you're studying irregular hours, in a high-pressure position, or feeling demotivated, your day to day lifestyle and activities can impact your mental health for a variety of reasons.

Wellbeing Checks consist of a free 15-minute private consultation with Olivia Simpson, a Medical Science & Clinical Practice graduate.

The purpose of the wellbeing check is to measure some help parameters inform you of what these mean and signpost you to any support or help for health and wellbeing which you may need. Please note this is not a crisis service nor a therapy service. If you need help now please visit I need help now.

Measurements taken during the appointment are non-invasive and include blood pressure, pulse rate, BMI, body fat %, visceral fat and muscle mass. Nutritional, exercise and lifestyle advice, along with food recipe cards, can also be provided. Where appropriate, those attending will be signposted to other services at the University, as well as external organisations. Educational leaflets on various topics (e.g. obesity, osteoporosis, smoking) will also be available.
