Succeeding in a Virtual World

The University of Wolverhampton’s Careers Centre presents this webinar series for the Class of 2021 on Succeeding in a virtual world from 20 - 22 April 2021.

From virtual meetings to virtual dinner parties- virtual has gone viral! Recruitment fairs have moved online, virtual interviews are now common-place, and entire businesses have moved to remote working.

The world of work is undergoing dramatic, and in some cases irreversible transformations. Job titles are changing, new technologies are emerging at pace, and this has forced the need for businesses to adapt and job descriptions to be re-written.

What does all this mean for you?

With roughly half a million other students graduating this year and entering a labour market where job ads are running at a much lower level than previously, and with the 16-25s the hardest hit, we are bringing to you the information and advice you need to succeed in this new world.

But it’s not all bad news. Change brings about innovation. Whilst some sectors have suffered challenges, other sectors are seeing this as an opportunity to adapt and innovate. In turn, this is creating new joband new remote working opportunities.

The purpose of this webinar series is to prepare and equip you with the knowledge, confidence and resilience to successfully navigate your way through a changing world. Now more than ever, you will need to rely on your transferable skills, and you may also need to re-invent your career plans.

This event is open to University of Wolverhampton students and recent graduates.

Live captioning is available in each of the webinars in the series.

If you are a current student at the University of Wolverhampton and require a BSL interpreter for any of our events; then please contact the careers team via email careers@wlv.ac.uk, at least 5 working days before the date of the webinar you wish to attend.
