Students impacted by the Covid-19 situation in India
You may have seen or read about the increased Covid-19 infection and death rates in India, and we know that many of our student and staff community will be personally affected by this ongoing tragic situation.
University support
Mental Health and wellbeing
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing team can help through an individual appointment (waiting time is less than two weeks) and/or using the self-help resources available. Please use the below web links to access these:
- Register for a one-to-one appointment with a Practitioner
- Online self-help resources
The self-help is provided by the mental health and wellbeing platform Togetherall, which provides 24/7 access and offers a wide range of support options. It is open to all staff and students at the University of Wolverhampton. Whether you are struggling to cope, feeling low, or needing a place to talk, Togetherall can help you explore your feelings in a safe and supportive online environment.
Multi-faith Chaplaincy
While the Chaplaincy building and prayer facilities on campus are currently closed due to Covid-19, the Chaplains are still here for you. The Chaplaincy team offer private and confidential conversations and support online and over the phone. We also have a Sikh Chaplain who can support everyone but especially Sikh and Indian students/staff. If you need to speak with a person of a faith we don't have on the team; we have community links with members of many faiths.
If you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall or Telford, the Chaplaincy can also make a referral for help with food.
To contact the Chaplaincy, please call: 01902 322 903 or email: chaplaincy@wlv.ac.uk
Student funding support
Our dedicated student funding team supports students who are in financial hardship through individual financial awards or emergency loans. Applications for the Hardship Fund (Dennis Turner Opportunity Fund) re-open on 10 May, but emergency loans and bursaries are available at all times.
