Skills Policies

The Skills for Learning team strives to support all students, whether on-campus, at home or international. Since the 2020-21 COVID-19 pandemic, we have introduced a model of ‘blended learning’, with a mixture of on-site and online support.

Our in-house workshops are currently run online, following largely positive feedback on the flexibility this gives our students. However, we understand that many students prefer to speak directly with a member of staff, and therefore we have on-campus appointments available several times each week. Please note, however, that these slots are organised in line with other teaching commitments in the Skills team.

Finally, we support academic staff with a mixture of on-campus and online workshops – we will probably see you at some point as part of your course!

As a student service, it is important that Skills for Learning maintains several policies in order to manage and implement a consistent support offer. Below you can find these policies on areas such as appointment guidelines, managing feedback and the scope of our support.
