Employment-based routes in teacher training (EBR)

Employment-based routes in teacher training (EBR) gives trainees the opportunity to work in a school/setting whilst completing their individual teacher training programme. Trainees are paid during their training as unqualified teachers.

Course Overview
Graduate Employment Based Route leading to Early Years Teacher Status This is a part time course for practitioners who are graduates and work in early years settings. Successful completion leads to recommendation of Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).
Salaried School Direct Trainees are employed as an unqualified teacher in school whilst they train. This route is for career changers only. Successful completion leads to recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Assessment Only QTS Programme (Primary/Secondary) This route is 12 weeks in duration and is for highly experienced but unqualified teachers who have at least 2 years experience of working in an English school. Successful completion leads to recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

National Award for Special Educational Needs (SEN) ‌Coordination (SENCO)

This programme is mandatory for newly qualified SENCOs, but is also highly relevant for experienced SENCOs and a valuable option for Continued Professional Development (CPD), resulting in a PGCE and 60 credits towards a Masters degree.
