Access is now available to the Guardian and Observer archive via Proquest Historical Newspapers. This resource is available with thanks to the history department who have supported the funding for access.
This searchable full text database covers content from The Guardian (1821-2003) and The Observer (1791-2003). Access to current issues is available via the European Newstream database.

What is covered?
You can access news articles, features, photos, cartoons, adverts and more from each newspaper. The archive provides access to facts, firsthand accounts, and opinions of the day about the most significant and fascinating political, business, sports, literary, and entertainment events from the past two centuries. You can also search by date, title, author and more.
