The Foundation Year is an introduction to a variety of creative process’s, methodologies and core study skills. The year progresses to a range of Art and Design subject pathways. Whilst the year is not subject specialist, teaching spans a selection of subject areas with the School of Creative Industries and allows you the freedom to explore and discover your own creative identity. Joining the Foundation Year cohort gives you the opportunity to work alongside peers with study interests from a broad range of art and design subject areas.
If you’re a visual storyteller with a passion for drawing, image-making, and design, Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton offers a dynamic space to grow your creative voice. Our BA (Hons) Illustration degree is rooted in the contemporary world of illustration - from publishing and editorial to concept art, digital design and socially engaged practice.
From day one, you’ll work in dedicated illustration studios and explore an exciting blend of analogue and digital processes. You’ll have access to specialist equipment including printmaking facilities, 3D workshops, digital suites with Adobe Creative Cloud, and high-end drawing displays - all geared towards helping you build a robust, expressive and future-facing practice.
This course encourages creative exploration, personal authorship, and socially aware visual communication. Whether you’re developing a children’s book, editorial series, or a speculative narrative project, we’ll help you find your voice and give you the tools to share it with the world.
