Sandra Wallace CBE

Global legal leader advancing UK and international equality, social mobility, and diversity.

Sandra is the Deputy Managing Partner and Managing Director of Practice Groups at the international law firm DLA Piper.

She has established a formidable reputation for her expertise in high-profile discrimination, equality, and diversity matters. In 2022, she was honoured with a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, recognising her outstanding services to law and social mobility.

Throughout her distinguished career, she has been a passionate advocate for advancing socioeconomic diversity. She previously served as Co-Chair of the UK Government’s Social Mobility Commission, advising Ministers and authoring a pivotal report on the nation’s progress in improving social mobility, which was laid before Parliament.

Currently, Sandra co-chairs the City of London’s Socioeconomic Diversity Taskforce, chairs City UK Birmingham, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the charity National Numeracy. In 2020, in recognition of her exemplary career and commitment to social mobility, the University appointed her as Pro-Chancellor.
