Support for our University community affected by the floods in Nepal

Many members of our University community will have been following the news of the devastating flooding in Nepal with deep concern.

We recognise that some of our students may be living through the impact of these events themselves, while others may be worried about family, friends and loved ones in the affected areas. We know that concern for those affected, alongside the uncertainty and distress such events can bring, can take a significant toll on wellbeing. We want to acknowledge that this may be a particularly difficult time for some members of our community.

Please remember that you do not have to face these challenges alone. The University is here to support you.

Students can access emotional and practical support through the Directorate of Student Life, including our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team, as well as the 24-hour WLV Student Life Connect support service.

Our Multi-Faith Chaplaincy also offers confidential pastoral support, a listening ear and a welcoming space for people of all faiths and none. The Chaplaincy team can be contacted at: chaplaincyenquiries@wlv.ac.uk

The strength of our University lies in the care and support we show one another. We encourage anyone affected by the situation in Nepal to reach out if they need support.

With best wishes,

Dan Kidd
Dean of Students
