South Asian Heritage Month event: Coaches' Kitchen community cook along, online 28 July

This month we’ll be cooking up South Asian dishes in honour of South Asian Heritage Month. You’re welcome to cook along if you feel up to it, or you can contribute to the conversation (using your microphone or just the chat function if you prefer). 

We are also collecting South Asian recipes from staff and students. We hope to receive enough to create a mini recipe exhibition on the windows of the FSE Student Community Hub (ground floor, Alan Turing Building). We’d love contributions from across the university, whether it’s a treasured family recipe, a dish from your heritage, or simply something that simply brings you joy to eat!

If you’d like to submit a recipe, please follow the template below so we can display them consistently.

  1. Recipe name
  2. Country/region of origin
  3. Your connection to this recipe - We’d love to know why this dish matters to you. It could be a story, a memory, a cultural link, or simply that it’s your go‑to comfort food.
  4. Ingredients - Please list clearly.
  5. Method - Short, simple steps are ideal.
  6. Your name and role (optional)
  7. A photo of the dish or a photo you associate with the dish (optional).
