What happens on the course?
You will develop a strong foundation in medical and biomedical sciences through exposure to a range of disciplines and hands-on laboratory and simulated clinical experience. Core anatomy and physiology, infectious disease and immunology, molecular and cellular sciences, and health and disease modules will be taught in a clinically relevant context, enabling you to apply your knowledge to understand what happens when the body goes wrong in disease, as well as how conditions are diagnosed and treated.
Topics will be revisited throughout the course, each time explored in greater depth to reinforce and expand your understanding. As the course progresses, teaching methods will progress to provide comprehensive coverage of the knowledge, laboratory and clinical skills required for progression to a medical degree and other medical related careers.
Innovative and varied teaching methods will combine lectures, laboratory practicals, case-based discussions, and clinical and communication skills workshops. Learning will be enhanced by advanced technologies, including simulation, and virtual reality tools in state of the art clinical suites and laboratories.

By graduation, you will be equipped with the medical and scientific knowledge, laboratory and clinical skills, professional awareness, and networks required to progress into careers across clinical healthcare, research, diagnostics, and related scientific fields.
*Conditional acceptance: All admitted University of Wolverhampton 2-year accelerated Bachelor in Medical Sciences students will receive conditional acceptance to AUC at their time of enrolment in University of Wolverhampton. Students will know that they have secured a place in medical school, pending the fulfilment of the admission requirements for the MD degree. AUC will guarantee a seat for those who meet the admission requirements for the MD degree.
University of Wolverhampton Bachelor of medical science graduates who have not fulfilled all Direct Admission Requirements may still apply to AUC through the standard application process.
WLV graduates who successfully complete the 2-year accelerated Bachelor in Medical Sciences degree, within five years of applying to AUC, and with a minimum marks upper second class, will be considered for direct entry into semester 2 of the 4-year AUC Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. To receive direct entry, University of Wolverhampton graduates must provide a minimum of two letters of recommendation: one from the University of Wolverhampton’s Science Faculty and one professional letter of recommendation; final, official transcripts directly from the University of Wolverhampton. If the student cannot provide a professional letter of recommendation, we will accept two academic letters of recommendation.
The 6-year pathway course is for self funded students and does not attract UK student loans.

You’ll gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical and professional skills On our Medical Science degree, to prepare you for a wide range of careers in science and healthcare. You will:

GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 5/B, along with three other GCSEs at grade 4/C or above (five GCSEs in total)
PLUS EITHER
- 120 UCAS points
- A Levels - grades BBB to include at least one Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
- BTEC L3 Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge L3 Technical Extended Diploma - grades DDM in Science
- Access to HE Diploma (60 credits) of which a minimum of 45 must be at Level 3 (120 UCAS point equivalence) in a Science or Healthcare Science subject
- T Level - grade M or above in a Science or Healthcare Science subject
