Travelling During Your Studies

Travelling over Christmas or Easter
If you want to travel home or go on holiday to another country for Christmas or Easter, you should consider the following;

• Check the dates for your last classes and when teaching will resume – remember you are expected to attend all your on-campus activities so you must return by the approved return date.
• Make sure you know when your assessments are due and if you have any on campus exams in January or May. You must not miss any assessments or exams.
• Send your flight details to the Student Visa Compliance and Advice team so we can save them on your file. It’s important we know where you are in case of any enquiry while you’re away. Email your flight details, both departure and return details, to visa-enquiries@wlv.ac.uk making sure to include your student number.

Documents to take with you
• If you will be travelling to a different country, you may need a visa to enter the country. Check the requirements on the website for the embassy for the country you are travelling to.
• If you will be travelling to your home country you will just need your passport – check it is still in date. Remember if you get a new passport you need to share a copy with the Student Visa Compliance and Advice team.
• We advise you to download a Confirmation of Study letter from your e:vision account and keep it with you when you travel. This will confirm you are enrolled at the University of Wolverhampton so if you are asked any questions about your studies at the UK Border you can prove you are enrolled here.
• Make sure you can access your eVisa details through your UKVI account and know how to generate a share code if one is needed.
