February has been a dynamic and inspiring month across the School of Business, with students engaging in hands-on sustainability initiatives, industry visits, careers development activities and postgraduate progression planning. From conservation volunteering to stadium tours and careers fairs, our students continue to learn, contribute and make a difference.

🌍 Hospitality & Tourism🌳 Conservation Volunteering in Action

Our Hospitality and Tourism students embraced an incredible afternoon of Conservation Volunteering, bringing energy, teamwork and positivity to every task. From hands-on environmental work to developing practical sustainability awareness, students stepped beyond the classroom to engage directly with real-world environmental initiatives. The experience strengthened key transferable skills including teamwork, resilience and social responsibility — all highly valued within the hospitality, tourism and events sectors. Digital badges will be shared shortly, with certificates being distributed next week to support students in enhancing their LinkedIn profiles and CVs. We are incredibly proud of how you represented the programme — learn, contribute, make a difference 🌱

⚽ Industry Insight at West Bromwich Albion

A huge thank you to West Bromwich Albion F.C. for hosting our Marketing, Business and Hospitality students. Students gained valuable insight into how a professional football club strategically invests in its fans and the wider community. The presentation highlighted brand management, destination marketing and community engagement strategies — directly linking theory to practice. The quality of student questions was fantastic, demonstrating professionalism and genuine curiosity. A proud moment was spotting our university logo as we arrived at the stadium — a brilliant reminder of the strength of our industry partnerships. The students had a great time… even if a few arrived in Wolves colours! 😂🐺

📈 Business & HR Management🎓 Graduates: Next Steps

Final-year Business and HR Management students have been focusing on preparing for life after graduation. February sessions have centred on labour market analysis, personal skills audits and strategies for positioning themselves effectively within a competitive employment market. Securing entry-level roles can be challenging in a fast-changing landscape, but the resilience, confidence and professionalism demonstrated by our students has been outstanding. Their proactive approach to career planning will undoubtedly stand them in good stead for the months ahead.

🚀 National Careers Week Preparation

Running from 2nd–7th March, National Careers Week is a UK-wide celebration of careers guidance and employability development. Employability Leads have been working closely with course teams to organise guest speakers, careers workshops and a brand-new employability webinar for undergraduate and postgraduate students. We look forward to sharing updates and celebrating student engagement next month.

🗣️ Course Representative Meeting

As we reach the midpoint of Semester Two, our Course Leader met with course representatives to reflect on the student experience. Course reps play a vital role in shaping programme development, acting as a key communication bridge between students and staff. It was extremely positive to hear that students are enjoying their studies — particularly the integration of industry experts into the classroom. Even more employer engagement activities are on the way.

🏟️ Molineux Careers Fair

Our Business and HRM Course Leader attended the Wolverhampton Careers Fair at Molineux Stadium on 12th February. It was inspiring to see so many individuals exploring their next challenge, whether that be education or employment. A particular highlight was seeing our HR students confidently networking with professionals and exploring opportunities across a wide range of organisations.
