Graduation ceremonies will now take place twice a year, in July and January. 

• Winter Graduation 26th - 31st January 2026
• Summer Graduation provisionally 27th–31st July 2026

Specific ceremony dates and times will be finalised in December 2025 for January graduation, June 2026 for Summer Graduation.

You will receive further details once they are confirmed. 

Once graduation registration has been completed, visa support letters for students and their guests can be generated via e:Vision.

Guest tickets are released in the lead-up to the ceremonies. 

• Guest tickets for Winter Graduation are expected to on sale in December 2025. 
• Guest tickets for Summer Graduation will be released for sale in July 2026.

Invitations are sent before all results are confirmed. To remain eligible to attend, you must achieve a pass and have your award conferred by the published deadline for that set of ceremonies.

If you need to re-sit an assessment that takes you past the award deadline, you will no longer be able to attend the upcoming ceremonies. Instead, your place will be deferred to the next set of ceremonies (Summer or Winter, depending on when you complete your studies). You will also receive an ineligibility email explaining this.

Students on non-standard courses that do not meet the semester two award board deadline will be invited to attend Winter Graduation instead.

No, this change does not impact when you receive your award, only when you attend your graduation ceremony. 

• Students who pass in Semester 2 and receive their award by 29th June will attend Summer Graduation in July. 

• Students who resit in July and pass will receive their award in August and be invited to attend Winter Graduation in January. 

If you have registered to attend July 2026 ceremonies, final eligibility will be confirmed after the June Award Boards. 

To be eligible to graduate in July 2026, you must:

• successfully complete and pass all required credits;
• have your final award agreed following the June award boards and recorded on the student records system by 29 June 2026;
• have paid any outstanding University debts, where applicable.

Don't worry—graduation ceremonies are large events, with thousands of students from across all courses split between Summer and Winter ceremonies. Whichever period you attend, you are likely to be celebrating alongside fellow students from your course.  

Qualifying awards confirmed after 30th June 2025 and on or before 3rd December 2025 are expected to be invited to Winter Graduation in January 2026.  

Qualifying awards confirmed after 3rd December 2025 through to 29th June 2026 will be eligible for the next Summer Graduation ceremonies in 2026.

You will be invited to complete the graduation registration task in e:Vision This task will be available on the Graduation page in e:Vision and you must complete it by the given deadline to confirm your attendance. 

If you fail to register your intention to attend in e:Vision by the deadline, you will not be included in the Graduation ceremonies.

Registration for July 2026 has closed. Registration for January 2027 ceremonies will open during October 26, eligible students will be notified by email once the registration task is available.  

The registration deadline will be confirmed in your invitation email. It is important to complete the graduation registration task in e:Vision by this deadline to ensure you are included in the ceremony. 

The deadline for July 2026 ceremonies was 8th May 2026.

Invites for January 2027 ceremonies will be issued during October 2026. 

Yes, you may opt to defer to the next available graduation period, but you may only do this once. 

When you complete the graduation registration task in e:Vision you will have the option to register to attend, defer (once) or tell us you are not attending.

If you achieve your intended award but choose to defer, you will be invited to the next set of ceremonies, after which no further invitations will be issued.  

Academic dress (gown hire) is provided by Ede & Ravenscroft.

Booking is expected to open in June, once ceremonies have been confirmed. Registered students will be contacted by email when booking opens, and details will also be published on these webpages.

All graduates attending a ceremony must wear appropriate academic dress.

Robing will close in mid-July. Students whose awards are expected to be confirmed are encouraged to book as soon as possible once booking opens.

Yes. Only students who have completed their graduation registration and are confirmed as eligible to attend should book guest tickets.

A minimum of three guest tickets is expected to be available per graduate. Final allocations will be confirmed when booking opens and may be increased, subject to capacity.

Guest tickets are booked online via AXS. Once tickets are available, ceremony-specific booking links will be published on these webpages.

Do graduates need a ticket?

Graduates do not need to purchase a ticket. A graduate ticket will be issued on the day of the ceremony when registering at the venue.

Where do the ceremonies take place?

Ceremonies take place at The Halls, North Street, Wolverhampton, with celebrations also taking place on campus.

Are guest tickets refundable?

Guest tickets are non-refundable, so please ensure the correct ceremony is selected when booking.

Can I buy additional tickets?

If additional tickets become available after the initial booking period, further information will be shared with students.

No. Certificates are not issued at the graduation ceremony.

Degree certificates are legal documents and are only issued following completion of the University's formal award and certification processes. To help ensure the security and accuracy of these documents, certificates are not distributed at the ceremony.

Once your award has been formally conferred, you will be able to generate a digital transcript through e:vision which can be shared directly with employers, universities and other third parties if required.

To obtain your physical certificate, you can request one (free of charge) by completing the Certificate Request task in e: Vision. Your certificate will then be produced and sent to the address on record. Please note that processing times may be longer during peak periods, particularly during award and graduation months.
