The University's LGBTQ+ Staff Network is delighted to announce that the University will once again be taking part in Birmingham Pride, one of the UK’s most vibrant and inclusive celebrations of LGBTQ+ identity.

This year’s parade takes place on Saturday, 23 May, and we are proud to be joining forces with colleagues across the region as part of UNIfied at Pride, coordinated by the University of Birmingham.

Birmingham Pride brings together tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ people, along with their families, friends, allies, and supporters. It is a powerful annual moment of visibility, solidarity, and joy, one that highlights the importance of creating inclusive spaces where everyone can be their authentic selves.

or 2026, the University of Wolverhampton will stand shoulder‑to‑shoulder with seven partner institutions:

  • Arden University
  • Aston University
  • University of Birmingham
  • Birmingham City University
  • Birmingham Newman University
  • University College Birmingham
  • University of Law

Together, we will form a united higher education contingent, demonstrating our shared commitment to championing LGBTQ+ inclusion across our campuses and the wider community. Marching as one collective group sends a strong message: that our universities value diversity, celebrate difference, and stand proudly for equality.
