Drop-in and One-to-One Support

Drop-in schedule:

If you’d like to see someone in person about your academic skills, the first place to go is our drop-in service. This is held at CityWalsall and Telford libraries. There’s no need to book – just come along at the following times:

City (Harrison Library)

Monday - Friday, 11am – 4pm

Walsall Library

Monday - Thursday, 11am - 2pm

Telford (Hutchison Library)

Wednesday, 11am - 2pm

Please note: In preparation for the closure of our Telford campus, our final drop-in will run on Wednesday, 5th August 2026. We can still speak with students at Telford until it is fully vacated by UoW staff. If you'd like to arrange an appointment, contact skills@wlv.libanswers.com.

The drop-in service can be very popular at peak periods (such as assignment deadlines). If you can't be seen between 11am-4pm, contact us to request an appointment. To access our other support, including online workshops, head to www.wlv.ac.uk/skills.

Useful info:

Do you have a particular learning need? Before booking an appointment with us, we’d recommend you look over the Communication Services page. If you require a BSL interpreter, manual note-taker or other communication support service, please organise this prior to confirming an appointment time.

Please note that the Skills for Learning team cannot proofread work and cannot offer subject-specific advice. For further information about our support, please download our Feedback Guidance

Finally, if you and other students are looking for an appointment together we can arrange this. Just contact us with a list of the student names and numbers, and we’ll arrange for a group session.
