Clearing students urged to look beyond course titles and focus on career prospects

Students preparing for Clearing this summer are being encouraged to ask a very important question: how will this degree prepare me for my future career?

As thousands of students await their results, universities are preparing to support those seeking a place through Clearing. While much of the focus traditionally centres on securing a place, experts at the University of Wolverhampton say students should think beyond their degree also and consider the practical experience, support and opportunities available to help them stand out to employers after graduation. The University's message aligns with growing employer demand for graduates who are ready for the workplace from day one.

Unlike many institutions where work placements are optional or undertaken as a separate placement year, the University of Wolverhampton embeds a credit-bearing work placement into every undergraduate course, ensuring all students can gain meaningful experience alongside their studies.
