Welcome to the Chaplaincy newsletter containing details of regular events, workshops and plans for upcoming community and religious events.

Baking, Monday 27 February 11am – 2pm

On Monday 27 February there will be a first get together to make and bake bread. At the first session we will be making Hot Cross buns, a traditional English spiced fruit bread. We will use the two periods when the dough is rising as study periods and then return to our mixing, kneading and baking at intervals.

Filming opportunity, 7 March

We are looking for students and staff who identify as having a religious faith or have a specific spiritual tradition who would be willing to be interviewed about why their beliefs are important to them. This might involve talking about special occasions in your religion, activities that are important to you or how you beliefs affect your life at university. Please email sarah.schofield@wlv.ac.uk to register an interest. Filming will take place on 7 March at the Chaplaincy.

*Learn about Fabric Weaving with an Expert: Monday 13 March, 10am - 12.30pm or 6pm-8pm*

Bernadette has many years of experience making unique hand woven home interior textiles designs made using innovative sources of natural yarns. She shares her passion and expertise, as well as explaining some of the history and technique involved in weaving her beautiful cloths.

This event is free to students at the University of Wolverhampton but everyone else attending is asked to make a donation of what they can afford. The event is designed to inspire an interest in weaving with the hope that Bernadette may be able to set up regular classes somewhere in Wolverhampton. This event follows on from Bernadette's excellent event at Wolverhampton Art Gallery as part of the Black Craft and Graft weekend. Her work can been seen on her website: https://fab-weaves.co.uk/
