Student Update: Latest Covid-19 Guidance on Tuesday 5 January

Please be aware that this information was shared with students by email and correct at the time of sending. For the latest Covid-19 guidance, please visit our coronavirus webpages: www.wlv.ac.uk/coronavirus. If you are a student who has a query or needs support, please log a helpcall with ASK@WLV in e:Vision (www.wlv.ac.uk/evision).

Yesterday evening the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced another national lockdown which is now in effect.

We will continue to review all the available information and update you on how we will provide the very best education and support we can during this challenging time. Please be assured our priority is to protect your educational progress and support your wellbeing.

In line with Government restrictions, there will be no on campus teaching (apart from practical sessions for critical worker courses) until mid-February at the earliest. We would advise you to check your timetable for further details. Please continue to follow Government guidance and do not travel to the University unless you need to return for health and wellbeing reasons or do not have appropriate access to study space or a PC. Our libraries and study spaces will be available in a safe and managed way, and we will be communicating how students can access these spaces as soon as possible.

Student Support

We will continue to provide student support services online. Your Faculty Student Services are your first point of call to access support and advice. The easiest way to contact your Faculty Support Services is via the e:Vision Helpdesk. A key benefit to using the Helpdesk is that it's easy to track your query and have a record of our responses for the full duration of your course.

The pandemic has created and exacerbated many challenges for us all, and we have a range of services to support your wellbeing during this time. All of our students can access online mental health and wellbeing support 24/7 through Togetherall – an online community monitored by trained clinicians. In addition to this, our own dedicated Mental Health and Wellbeing service offers one-to-one support and can signpost you to additional support services.
