Double win for WLVArchitecture student

The University of Wolverhampton’s WLVArchitecture department is celebrating a double success for Honor Davies, a HNC Architectural Studies student, who won the Construction & Civil Engineering Award and was named Shropshire Apprentice of the Year at the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards 2025.

Honor is completing her apprenticeship with SJ Roberts Construction while studying a part-time HNC at the University. She was recognised for outstanding performance and potential across the region’s built-environment sector.

Speaking after the event, Honor said:

“Balancing my work with my studies at Wolverhampton University has been rewarding. My course has been very beneficial, and I appreciate the opportunity it has given me to broaden my expertise. The lecturers are consistently approachable and willing to offer guidance whenever required.”

Professor David Heesom, Interim Head of WLVArchitecture, said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Honor, and we’re immensely proud of her drive, professionalism and the example she sets to other students and future professionals. It’s also great to see regional companies such as SJ Roberts Construction supporting the next generation, combining real project experience with rigorous university study.”
