Final year students - have your say! Your Views, Your NSS
We launched The National Student Survey (NSS) at the University of Wolverhampton on Monday 19 January. The NSS is a UK-wide, official survey that asks final year undergraduate students to share their feedback on their course and institution.
If you are eligible to take part, your lecturer will talk to you about the survey, and you’ll receive invitations from Ipsos, who run the NSS on behalf of the Office for Students. You may be contacted by email or phone, and you can also complete the survey online at www.thestudentsurvey.com anytime before 30 April 2026.
Taking part is voluntary and completely anonymous.
The NSS matters because your feedback leads to real change. Below, you’ll see examples of improvements made in response to what students have told us. NSS results are also published on Discover Uni, where future students use them to decide what and where to study.
It’s important that you share your honest views. No one at the University should influence how you respond, and guidance is available here, if you have any concerns.
As a thank you, completing the survey enters you into a prize draw to win one of ten £50 vouchers, and the University will donate £2 to Student Minds for every response.
See how your feedback drives real change
Thanks to feedback from students like you, we continually make meaningful improvements to the student experience - from the way your course is managed, to academic support, learning and digital resources, as well as wellbeing, careers and opportunities to help you succeed throughout your student journey and beyond.
Supporting you to thrive
Through the recent launch of the Student Success Directorate we've increased tailored support and have helped more students progress to their final year than at any point in the last six years.
At City Campus a new Student Journey Centre provides friendly advice and a place to relax, while the Student Support Centre now includes finance support to resolve your queries more effectively.
We recently introduce Student Life, a joined up network of services focused on helping you to thrive. This includes faster access to mental health support and more inclusive learning support, including funded dyslexia assessments and increased access to assistive technology.
Academic support to fit your needs
Student feedback has influenced how we support you academically, through study support and resources. We’ve expanded one to one maths and statistics appointments, Academic English support, and library skills drop ins. We're also making it easier for you to contact academic staff and book appointments when you need some extra guidance.
Enhanced digital and learning resources
Every year, we continue to invest in your digital experience, from reliable Wi-Fi and an expanding bank of software, to resources that build confidence in data handling, digital tools, and AI. All skills essential for the modern workplace. We're also making sure you have a comfortable environment to study and have added more quite study spaces at Harrison Library, as well as specialist PCs across campus.
Focusing on your career development
Beyond your studies, feedback shaped stronger careers and employability support. Last year we ran our biggest ever Careers Fair, alongside expanded funding for placements, workshops and faculty based careers advice.
Building connection and community
We’re also investing in student connection and social experience, with more student events (including the award-nominated Global Gatherings and Global Lunches at the Chaplaincy), offering spaces to relax, make friends, and feel part of a vibrant community.
Listening to you
Your feedback drives these changes. We run regular surveys, feedback sessions, and meet with course reps to make sure your needs are heard - and acted upon!
By taking part in this year’s National Student Survey you will help us to keep making enhancements that benefit students for years to come.
You can take the National Student Survey and learn more about how students' views can make a real difference on the Student Voice webpage.
