Getting to our campuses

Travelling from near or far, here are the essential details when visiting us at our Wolverhampton (City and Springfield), Walsall or Telford campuses for Open Day, whether by car or public transport. 

No fuss, however you get to us.

Bus

Wolverhampton Bus Station: 6 minutes’ walk from campus, served by buses from across the region.

Train

Wolverhampton Train Station: 7 minutes’ walk from campus. It’s on the main Birmingham, London, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh lines.

Metro

Wolverhampton St Georges metro stop (which goes to Birmingham Snow Hill via West Bromwich) is 7 minutes’ walk from campus. Services run every 6-8 minutes throughout the day. 

Campus bus

If you need to travel between our main campuses, as a student, you can for free by hopping on to the campus bus. There is also a special campus bus service on Open Days (departing from Stafford Street, outside the Rosalind Franklin building) between City Campus Wolverhampton and Walsall; and City Campus Wolverhampton and Telford. Times will be printed in your Open Day programme. 

Driving

Wolverhampton City Campus is based in the city centre of Wolverhampton.

The closest motorway junction is Junction 10 of the M6. City Campus is split into two sites: City Campus Molineux (signposted North on road signs) and City Campus Wulfruna (signposted South on road signs).

Both are signposted from the Ring Road and the A449.

The main entrance and registration for Open Day is on City Campus Wulfruna. Open Day Parking is on City Campus Molineux, with a short walk to the main entrance.

Parking

Limited parking for Open Day visitors is available on City Campus Molineux (signposted North on road signs), opposite the Lord Swraj Paul Building (MU), on Molineux Street, labelled 'staff only'. Use WV1 1SG for satnavs.

There is very limited metered parking by the main reception on Wulfruna Street.

There are several metered, on-street, or pay-and-display car parks within short walking distance.

Bus

The number 51 bus from Walsall Bus Station takes approx. 12 minutes and stops on Jesson Road, near campus.

Train

Walsall Train Station is about half an hour’s walk from campus. Taxis are available, or the bus station (see above) is a short walk away.

Campus bus

If you need to travel between our main campuses, as a student, you can for free by hopping on to the campus bus. There is also a special campus bus service on Open Days between Walsall Campus and City Campus Wolverhampton. Times will be printed in your Open Day programme. 

Driving

Walsall Campus is a few minutes’ drive from Junction 9 of the M6 motorway. Take the A461 Bescott Road towards Walsall. Get into the right hand lane and follow the right fork of the A4148, signposted Birmingham.

You will pass The Performance Hub on the left. At the following traffic lights, turn left into the Performance Hub entrance (off The Broadway, A4148).

Parking

Limited parking for Open Day visitors is available, please use The Performance Hub entrance. Use WS1 3EZ for satnavs.

Disabled parking is available at the Gorway Road entrance.

Train

Telford Central train station is 17 minutes’ walk to the campus. It is not on a direct bus route.

Campus bus

If you need to travel between our main campuses, as a student, you can for free by hopping on to the campus bus

There is also a special campus bus service on Open Days between Telford Campus and City Campus Wolverhampton. Times will be printed in your Open Day programme. 

Driving

Telford Campus is between junctions 4 and 5 of the M54.

Parking

Disabled parking is available.

Our Springfield Campus is a short walk from Wolverhampton City Centre, and from City Campus. Travelling in by public transport will bring you to Wolverhampton City Centre.

Wolverhampton Bus Station: 9 minutes’ walk from Springfield Campus, served by buses from across the region.  If travelling from the north, the closest bus stop may be on Cannock Road (Badger Drive) or Stafford Street (A449, stopping by The Food Warehouse/ Home Bargains).

Train

Wolverhampton Train Station: 7 minutes’ walk from campus. It’s on the main Birmingham, London, Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh lines.

Wolverhampton St Georges metro stop (which goes to Birmingham Snow Hill via West Bromwich) is 15 minutes’ walk from Springfield Campus. Services run every 6-8 minutes throughout the day.

Driving

Springfield Campus is just outside the main city centre of Wolverhampton.

The closest motorway junction is Junction 10 of the M6. City Campus is split into two sites: City Campus Molineux (signposted North on road signs) and City Campus Wulfruna (signposted South on road signs). Both are signposted from the Ring Road and the A449.

To drive to Springfield Campus, from the A449 Stafford Road section of the ring road, follow signs for the A460, Cannock Road. Go past the first right turn for Cambridge Street (passing Casper Polish supermarket), and take the second right, Springfield Road and immediate right onto Hilton Street, which merges into Culwell Street and leads to one-way access onto Grimstone Street, and the car park.

The postcode WV10 0JP will take you through to the car park which is on Grimstone Street.

Parking

Limited parking for Open Day visitors is available at Springfield Campus - access from Grimstone Street.

Alternatively, there is more Open Day parking available on City Campus Molineux (signposted North on road signs), opposite the Lord Swraj Paul Building (MU), on Molineux Street, labelled 'staff only'. Use WV1 1SG for satnavs.
