Travel Scheme

You may be eligible if you:

• Attend an eligible University of Wolverhampton Open Day or Applicant Day.
• Register your attendance at the event.
• Provide the required proof of address and supporting travel documentation on the day.
• Meet the eligibility requirements set out in the Terms and Conditions.

Travel support is eligible only to the prospective student attending the event and is subject to approval.

• Register your attendance at the event.
• Visit the designated registration point.
• Complete the travel support form.
• Present your proof of address and supporting travel documentation.

If your claim is approved, you will receive an email from WLV Wallet after the event.

Follow the instructions in the email to redeem your payment to your nominated bank account within 45 days.

Attendance at our Open Days will be recorded by University of Wolverhampton staff and you must register at a designated registration point, where you will be required to complete a form and provide proof of address and supporting travel documentation on the day. This information will be used to confirm student attendance and eligibility to claim under this offer. Failure to provide satisfactory supporting documentation may result in the claim being rejected.

Travel support will be issued as a cash payment, subject to eligibility, based on the distance travelled to attend the Open Day:

• Less than 20 miles – no payment
• 20–50 miles – £20 cash payment
• 50+ miles – £30 cash payment

Distance travelled will be calculated by the University using the student’s home postcode and the relevant University campus postcode.

Travel must have been undertaken either on the exact date of the Open Day, or on the calendar day immediately before or after the Open Day (for petrol claims, please see further information below). Only the student’s travel is redeemable under the conditions of this offer.

Where a claim is approved, the student will receive an email after the event via the WLV Wallet platform. This email will provide instructions on how to log into the portal using the email address originally provided at registration, in order to claim and transfer the approved payment directly to their nominated bank account. 

Approved payments are non-transferable and may only be claimed by the eligible student attendee.

Students are responsible for ensuring that the email address provided at registration is accurate and accessible. 

The University of Wolverhampton is not responsible for any delay or failure in payment caused by incorrect email addresses, failure to access the WLV Wallet portal, incorrect bank details, or failure by the claimant to complete the redemption process within the stated timeframe.

University of Wolverhampton reserves the right to request original receipts and/or additional supporting documentation, if required, in order to validate any claim submitted. The University may also require proof of identity where reasonably necessary to verify eligibility or prevent fraudulent claims.
University of Wolverhampton reserves the right to refuse, withhold, or cancel any claim where it reasonably believes the claim is fraudulent, misleading, incomplete, ineligible, or submitted in breach of these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and any dispute relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

University of Wolverhampton’s liability for losses you suffer as a result of us breaking this agreement is strictly limited to the value of this agreement.

University of Wolverhampton is not responsible for indirect losses which occur as a side effect of the main loss.

Data Protection: Any personal data provided to us in connection with this travel support scheme will be held and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may also use that data for the administration of and communication relating to this scheme, including verification of eligibility and payment processing via WLV Wallet. By submitting your personal information in connection with this scheme, you consent to the processing of your personal data as set out above and confirm that the information provided is accurate and complete.
University of Wolverhampton reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw this travel support scheme, or the payment values offered under it, at any time and without prior notice. Any such amendment, suspension, or withdrawal will not affect claims already approved prior to the date of the change.

Submission of proof of address and any supporting travel documentation by a student confirms that the student agrees to the terms and conditions of this offer.

Please be advised that travel scheme reimbursement must be completed on the day of the event, claims not completed within this timeframe will no longer be redeemable. Money can be redeemed up to 45 days after the date of event.  
Travel support under this scheme is offered at the University’s discretion and is not guaranteed until eligibility has been verified and the claim has been approved.
