Inclusivity Matters: Issue 7

06/06/2023
Dr Ada Adeghe

Welcome to this issue of Inclusivity Matters, a quarterly newsletter to celebrate the University of Wolverhampton’s inclusive practice successes and opportunities.

Editor's welcome

Dr Ada Adeghe, Associate Dean, Inclusivity

Inclusive practice continues to be strong in the University. Throughout this year, school Inclusivity Leads have worked hard with colleagues to contextualise and demystify the Inclusive Framework as they embed inclusive practice in their subject areas.

We continue to encourage wider conversations amongst colleagues about what inclusive teaching and learning looks like, knowing that the most valuable knowledge and ways of teaching and learning come from a consideration of different perspectives, cultures and knowledge systems. We are also very excited about our forthcoming Annual Inclusivity Conference taking place on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st of June. Like last year we have assembled a great programme that speaks to the lived experience of our diverse body of staff and students. Some of the activities will offer us the opportunity to use our understanding of inclusive practice to improve outcomes for our students. Please make sure you have secured your booking and let us enjoy this journey as we continue to grow together…

This issue covers:

  • The Inclusivity Conference 2023: Moving Beyond Words - book now
  • Student Belonging in the School of Sport
  • Inclusivity Podcast: an interview with the Academic Coaches - watch now
  • LGBTQ+ and Religion and Belief Working Groups
