Your local Christmas lights switch-on!

As the temperature drops and you start to seriously think about your December plans, you might want to go to your local Christmas lights switch-on to help you get into the festive spirit, and possibly start the celebrations (or the gift-buying) early.

Telford Centre, Telford

  • Saturday 16th November, 11am-5pm, Telford Centre

They’re getting in the mood early at Telford Centre, with their Christmas Light Switch On! There’s plenty of entertainment on throughout the day ahead of the switch-on with Father Christmas at 5pm.

Halesowen

  • Saturday 16th November, 9am-5.30pm, Somers Square

There’s plenty of time to visit our Open Day before you head home to Halesowen for the town’s Christmas lights switch-on: with street food, rides, and craft markets, as well as special guest, Gregory Piper, from the BBC’s Line of Duty!

Malinslee, Telford

  • Friday 22nd November, 5pm-6pm, Malinslee Centre

Join in the community spirit in Malinslee for a short celebration for the Christmas lights switch-on. With Christmas songs and carols from the Darby Singers, channel your inner X-factor spirit and get singing!

Wednesbury, Walsall

  • Friday 22nd November, 3pm-7pm

If you live in Wednesbury, why not brave any wintery weather and go to the Christmas light switch-on? You’ll find artists, crafters and traders to help you get your festive gifts early!

Dudley

  • Saturday 23rd November, 12pm-5pm

Join your fellow Dudley folk for the town’s Christmas lights switch-on for fabulous food, Christmas crafts, as well as a free panto of Snow White at Churchill Precinct (1.30pm-3pm).

Wolverhampton city centre

  • Saturday 23rd November, 2pm- 8pm, Queen Square

With panto-star Su Pollard at the helm, the official switch-on is at 5pm, but there’s plenty happening throughout the day in Wolverhampton city centre, with reindeer in Dudley Street from 2pm-6pm; a free The Polar Express screening at 2.15pm; funfair; festive market; Father Christmas, and more!

Bantock House, Wolverhampton

  • Sunday 24th November, 4pm-7.30pm, Finchfield

Bantock House has a full day of festive celebrations, with a Christmas Craft Fair from 11am. From 4pm you can enjoy a fun fair, mince pies and mulled wine, the sounds of the Lady Wulfruna organ and more to get into the festive spirit ahead of the official lights switch-on at 6.30pm.

Wednesfield, Wolverhampton

  • Thursday 28th November, 4pm-7.30pm, High Street, Wednesfield

Head to Wednesfield to enjoy a mini fun fair, Father Christmas in his sleigh, the Lady Wulfruna Organ, and charity market ahead of the big switch-on at 6.30pm by the Deputy Mayor of Wolverhampton, Father Christmas, Ray Fellows and Dicky Dodd.

Bilston Town Centre

  • Friday 29th November, 5pm-8pm, Church Street

Enjoy the Signal 107 Roadshow, grand procession, Santa on his sleigh, as well as activities including the Christmas market and face painting earlier in the day ahead of Bilston’s switch-on at 6.30pm by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, award-winning comedienne Our Trace, and Dicky Dodd.

Brierley Hill

  • Friday 29th November, 3pm-6pm

Join in the town’s Christmas lights switch-on with street food, rides, and craft markets from 3pm.

Dawley, Telford

  • Friday 29th November, 3pm-6pm, High Street

Head to the High Street for live music, entertainment, face-painting, inflatables and more at Dawley’s Christmas Lights Switch On, with music on the bandstand from midday.

Wombourne

  • Friday 29th November, 5.30pm-6.30pm, Civic Centre

Get into the festive spirit and join Santa to celebrate with singing, fireworks, and the big countdown outside the Civic Centre in Wombourne, and you can continue the celebrations with hot turkey sandwiches, mulled wine, and Michael Bublé (aka Steve Walters) at The Vine.

Oakengates, Telford

  • Saturday November 30, 9am-6pm

There’s plenty on offer in Oakengates, with a Christmas market from 9am, live music from 3pm, and activities including lantern-making, all ahead of the Lights Switch-On at 5.30pm.

Stourbridge

  • Saturday November 30, 9am-5pm, High Street

Head to the high street for a day of celebration and family fun, as well as street food, rides, and craft markets ahead of the town’s official lights switch-on.

Tettenhall

  • Saturday November 30, 4pm-7.30pm, Upper Green

Enjoy the fun fair, Father Christmas in his sleigh, and the sound of the Lady Wulfruna Organ in Tettenhall ahead of the big switch-on at 6.30pm by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Father Christmas and Dicky Dodd.
