Interview preparation- Important Information

Pre-interview tasks required:

  • Have a form of identification (e.g. passport, driver's license, etc.) ready to present on arrival.
  • Do you know enough about the course you have applied for? Research information about the course, its campus and related placement areas, the Nursing and Midwifery Council 6 C's and visit our open days where you can come and speak to our staff and students www.wlv.ac.uk/opendays.

  • At the start of the interview day, you must show a form of picture ID as proof of who the interviewer is talking to. Acceptable documents include a passport, driving license, college ID badge, etc. (please note we do not accept copies).
  • All applicants are expected to complete the pre-applicant selection day task ( BNurs Pre-Session Written Task (Word doc 53k)) and bring this with them on the day (or upload it to e:Vision for international applicants). Failure to provide the completed pre-applicant selection day task will result in applicants needing to rebook on a future applicant selection day.
  • For our Home applicants only (ON_CAMPUS), The day starts promptly at 9am, but you can arrive from 08:30 to ensure you arrive early, so please allow plenty of time to travel to the campus and building where you are asked to arrive. As this is an assessment event you will be required to arrive on time, we will not permit any latecomers.
  • Throughout the day, you will firstly receive information regarding course expectations, campus information and support services available. The rest of the day will consist of group activities where applicants are given scenarios to discuss and then as a group we have a wider discussion following these. There is then a further piece of writing that is completed during the day.
  • For International applicants only (ONLINE), your interview link will be sent within 24 hours before your interview so you know the exact time of your interview.

After attending your interview, you will be notified on whether or not you’ve been successful within 48 hours. If you are successful, details of your offer will be confirmed within 14 working days.

Please note, if you pass your interview, you will be offered the next available intake, based upon the availability to study with the placement area you have requested or is deemed most suitable for you to access.

If you’re unsuccessful, you may be made an alternative offer on another course that we think you are suitable for. Find out more.

If you’re unable to attend your interview, you can decline your date/time via e:Vision up to 48 hours before your selection event and you must then log a helpdesk call to request a new date or withdrawal. If you’re unable to attend less than 48 hours before, please get in touch with Admissions via 01902 323505 as soon as possible. Find out more about responding to your invite here.

If you have applied through Clearing (July to October), you can contact the Clearing Hotline to request to amend your interview date.
