Join the Religion and Beliefs working group and help make a difference by sharing your experiences.

Staff and students are invited to be part of the Religion and Beliefs working group. The working group will meet to discuss the barriers our staff and students face whilst at work, studying, or in external settings such as placements. From the issues raised, guidance and policies will be implemented to ensure the University is creating a safe environment for our staff and students where we can all be comfortable in expressing our religion/beliefs.

The outcomes from this group would look at issues such as catering for more religious dietary requirements, religious dress in the workplace/lab settings and individuals substituting bank holiday leave for religious festival/event leave.

Sarah Schofield, Lead ChaplainSarah Schofield, Lead Chaplain Reverend said "I welcome this work which will make a valuable contribution to the wellbeing of everyone at the university, whether religious or not. Staff and students have a huge reservoir of knowledge and creativity which I hope we can draw upon for the mutual benefit of everyone. I urge everyone who is concerned with about how religion and belief are expressed at the University to get involved."

The meetings will occur on a quarterly basis. If you are interested in becoming a part of this group and want to see changes made, please email equality@wlv.ac.uk .We encourage allies to join this working group too.
