With keynote speakers, interactive sessions, poetry from our students and tasty food, all for free, our Black Resistance Conference is set to inform and inspire on Thursday 30 November.

It’s all happening in our Luna Lounge Bar, in the heart of our Students’ Union space at City Campus and we can’t wait to see you there. Opening the event is The University of Wolverhampton Vice-Chancellor Professor Ebrahim Adia. Professor Adia is our first Global Majority VC.

He will be joined by:

  • Global Young Leader at Women Deliver, writer and commentator Larissa Kennedy, former president at the National Union of Students, who will delve into how students can connect creatively with Black Resistance.
  • Campaigner Nate Israel, researcher Ifemu Omari and LGBTQIA+ student rep Sam McCracken will bring new and inspiring insights with lively, insightful talks and Q&A sessions.
  • Dr Ada Adeghe, Associate Dean for Inclusivity at the University of Wolverhampton, will be with us, to share how her role makes a difference to students.
  • Our African-Caribbean Society, who share poetry inspired by experience.

Food will also play an important part in the conference with a taste of cultures from across the globe.
