University prepares for results day

The University of Wolverhampton is gearing up for what promises to be a busy Clearing period ahead of A-Level Results Day.

Students in England who have studied for BTEC Nationals, A-Levels and T-Levels will receive their results on Thursday 15 August 2024.

University Clearing is the process by which universities fill any remaining places on their undergraduate courses after the main application deadline has ended.

This usually takes place from July to October and is designed to help students who have not yet secured a place at university to find a course that's right for them.

To coincide with this, the University will be hosting its latest Open Day on Saturday 17 August, between 10am – 2pm, welcoming all prospective students and giving them an introduction to our courses, campuses, facilities and accommodation.

A team of more than 150 staff and students, based at home and at the University’s Springfield Campus in the School of Architecture, are already working on the Clearing Hotline and have taken calls and enquiries from prospective students since 5 July.

Representatives from the University will be at City of Wolverhampton College, Halesowen College and Sandwell College on 15 August to offer advice and support for students thinking about what their next steps should be.

The University’s ‘Be Who You Want to Be’ marketing campaign will be running through to mid-September across a variety of content channels including billboards and digital screens across Birmingham and Wolverhampton, on digital channels, Spotify, All4, YouTube and Social Media sponsored posts.

Jack Clare, Director of UK Student Recruitment, Access and Partnerships at the University, said: “If you are receiving A-Level results on 15 August, we wish you the best of luck and if you’ve been successful in securing your place here, we look forward to welcoming you in September.

“If you haven’t applied to a university, you’ve changed your mind or you didn’t quite achieve the grades you wanted, please don’t worry. The University has course places available through Clearing and we’ll be able to help and support you with your enquiries.

“The main message is not to worry, stay calm and we’re here to help and support you through your journey.

“We are still offering places for a variety of courses across all our faculties, and remember, we are here to help you find the right course and support you to fulfil your potential.

“We are also hosting our latest Open Day on 17 August to coincide with prospective students looking to apply through Clearing. We know that many applicants are very keen to meet us in person and experience life at the University.”
