The University of Wolverhampton has further extended its international reach after signing a Partnership Agreement with a university in Uzbekistan.

The agreement was signed and sealed by the University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebrahim Adia, following a visit to the country recently.

The official Partnership Agreement with the International Digital University (IDU) will offer students the opportunity to study for degree courses in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and IT Technology.

Professor Adia said: "During the course of my visit I met with the British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, the Deputy Minister for Higher Education and the Deputy Minister for Digital Technologies.

"It was a pleasure to discuss the Country’s 2030 Strategy and to explore how the University can contribute to the strategic priority of environmental sustainability and economic growth, particularly supporting the development of a global digital hub.

“We are confident that the level of IDU graduates will be at the same high level as our other students in different countries. Today, around 6,000 students around the world study on our courses outside of England. Studying and diplomas at partner universities in France, Hong Kong, China, Nigeria, South Africa, and now Uzbekistan, go through the same quality control system, thereby ensuring their full compliance with the high level of British education."

International Digital University was set up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in September 2021.

The University’s Global Opportunities Office is the first point of contact for International and Transnational Education students going through the application process to becoming a student.
