University to host national event on advanced manufacturing for improving patient safety

The University of Wolverhampton is hosting a national networking event bringing together advanced manufacturing techniques and clinical expertise to improve patient safety outcomes.  

Taking place at the Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence at the University’s £120m Springfield Campus on 18 September, the event will see clinicians, researchers and health experts come together to find innovative solutions and collaborations in Metamaterials and advanced medical technologies to improve outcomes for patients.  

Attendees will gain valuable insights into developing cutting-edge medical devices, personalised implants, and advanced diagnostic tools.  

Experts from the University as well as speakers from industry will be talking about how new innovative manufacturing techniques can add value to healthcare, with opportunities for delegates to learn and network.  

Speakers at the event include; Professor Arun Arjunan, School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wolverhampton, Dr Sophie Cox, Associate Professor in Healthcare Technologies at the University of Birmingham, Dr Aditi Desai, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust and Professor Neil Ashwood, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
