Estates and Facilities are committed to ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of its employees and all other persons who may be affected by its activities or that of contractors employed on its behalf. 

In order to fulfil this commitment Estates and Facilities have developed their own internal Risk and Safety function.

The Estates and Facilities Risk and Safety Compliance Manager works across all Estates and Facilities divisions specifically in order to:

  • Ensure that their activities are undertaken in accordance with University and departmental policies and procedures and that they comply with current UK and EU legislation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of any such internal safety and risk arrangements, policies and procedures.
  • Minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.
