It is estimated there is a shortfall of over 173,000 workers in the STEM sector: an average of 10 unfilled roles per business in the UK, which is costing the economy a shocking £1.5bn per annum (source: STEM Learning).

What is more, 49% of engineering businesses are experiencing difficulties in the skills available to them when trying to recruit (source: IET Skills Survey 2021).

A report published by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute earlier this year, suggested the manufacturing skills gap in the US could leave up to 2.1 million jobs unfilled by 2030, with finding the right talent said to be 36% harder now than it was in 2018. (TCT by 29 Dec 2021)
