Vaisakhi is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar. It is the Sikh New Year festival, and this year marks the 327th Anniversary of the Creation of the Khalsa Order and making of Saint-Soldier by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699. To mark the occasion, thousands of visitors are expected once again at Wolverhampton's premier park for the annual celebrations in May. The Council of Sikh Gurdwaras in Wolverhampton have planned a fun filled day with entertainment for all the family, including a fun fair, a variety of stalls and popular Asian musicians and singers will be performing live on stage. |

Based in Wolverhampton and hosted by award-winning Deaf-led charity Zebra Access CIO, ‘Deaffest’ is the UK’s leading Deaf-led Film & Arts Festival, celebrating Deaf culture, creativity and community. We are proud to be joining forces with colleagues across the region as part of UNIfied at Pride, coordinated by the University of Birmingham. Staff and students are invited to get involved and support UNIfied at Pride, Marching as one collective group sends a strong message: that our universities value diversity, celebrate difference, and stand proudly for equality. |

Online Wellbeing WorkshopsThese psychosocial education workshops are friendly, interactive sessions designed to help you understand and manage your mental health and wellbeing. They’re not therapy, and you don’t need to share personal experiences — they’re more like wellbeing classes that give you tools to cope with life’s challenges. Our workshops will be running this Semester on every first Tuesday, 12 noon -1pm and every fourth Thursday, 12 noon - 1pm. |

Support to study |
Support for mumsWLV Gym exercise classes holds a monthly drop-in session for new and expectant mums The drop-in will be a safe space to come and make connections with other students who have either recently had a baby or are pregnant. We are happy to welcome ‘babes in arms’, so please feel free to bring along your newborn. We will have a steady supply of hot drinks and biscuits, so come for a chat with other new student mums. There will be colleagues on hand to talk about reasonable adjustments that the university can put in place whilst you are pregnant and for up to a year after the birth of your baby. Our Student Wellbeing Champions will also be joining us and we will have information about the different options available to support your study. Students on a Leave of Absence due to maternity are also very welcome to attend. If you email Supporttostudy@wlv.ac.uk with ‘Expectant and New Mum’ in the title, we will add you to the mailing list and keep you updated with the drop-in dates. |

Qur’an Circles with our Muslim ChaplainAn opportunity to connect, learn and grow spiritually with Qur’an and prayers, or just pop in for a chat and enjoy a hot drink. Qur’an Circles are taking place in the Chaplaincy Building (MP) at City Campus on Mondays between 12 noon - 1pm. The Faith Centre, WH221 Performance Hub, Walsall Campus on Thursdays, 12 noon - 1pm. WLV SportOur aim at WLV Sport is to enable our students, staff, and community to engage in sport and physical activity. We provide programmes across active lifestyles, social sport, and elite performance, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to be active on campus. Our multi-sports hall at Walsall Campus allows several sports, including badminton, 5-a-side football, futsal, netball, basketball, pickleball, volleyball and more.

Student-led Podiatry ClinicExperience quality foot care at our student-led podiatry clinic, guided by clinical educators, where future podiatrists treat a range of lower limb conditions. Clinics run on Tuesday and Friday from 9am – 4pm, offering foot health assessments and treatments delivered by our supervised podiatry students. Appointments are currently available for a short period at no initial charge. Sister Dora (WP) Building, Walsall Campus The clinic is open to staff, students, and members of the public. |
