We have just started a review where we aim to create a clear system for providing students who need Assistive Technology (AT) with the equipment and support that you need. This includes:

  • An Assistive Technology Review.
  • The development of a suite of introductory webinars.
  • Train the Trainer workshops which will create a pool of in-house expertise that can offer regular AT unpacking and guidance sessions for staff and students.
  • Bite-sized Video Resources which will be available for you to view.

As part of this review, we would really benefit from insights and feedback from you and would appreciate it if you could take some time out of your studies and revision to complete this short survey before Monday 3 June 2024.

As the landscape of learning technology, generative AI, evolves, it's crucial that we remain at the forefront of providing students and staff with suitable AT.

AT is now becoming integral to our digital landscape, driving efficiency and accuracy for everyone.
Sometimes AT provision often falls short in addressing the agile nature of technological advancements, mobile requirements, and specific reasonable adjustments and students and staff can often find themselves uncertain about the true benefits of AT, sometimes thinking that AT is only for those with a specific learning difference.

Our aim is to ensure that assistive technology provisions go above and beyond sector good practice. Through clear, concise information, advice, and guidance, as well as effective learning resources, we're hoping that this review will help you incorporate AT more easily into your studies.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out the survey.
Best wishes,
Dr Clare Dickens MBE
Associate Director - Student Life and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
