University celebrates graduation as Class of 2023 students take to the stage
We’re GRAD to be back!
The University of Wolverhampton is all set to celebrate its Class of 2023 student achievements at 5 graduation ceremonies – and we’re all so GRAD to be back!
The graduation ceremonies will take place on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 March 2024 with 1,100 students taking to the stage at the iconic and newly renamed University of Wolverhampton at The Halls in Wolverhampton city centre.
The students will join a community of over 145,000 graduates in 130 countries across the world, becoming part of the University’s global alumni network.
The University of Wolverhampton was recently announced as the new naming rights holder for The Halls, one of the most iconic live events venues in the Midlands, which has hosted world-class artists like Blur, McFly, Robert Plant and Leftfield since it re-opened in May last year.
Professor Ebrahim Adia, Vice-Chancellor at the University, said: “We are a university proudly rooted in our local and regional community offering opportunity to all, regardless of background. That spirit of social mobility and aspiration to equip people with the skills they need to succeed in life and work runs through the heart of what we do.
“We help to transform lives by creating opportunity and developing potential to help our students live rewarding lives where they can contribute their knowledge and skills to create a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable society.
“Our graduation ceremonies mark a major milestone in the lives of our students; the culmination of years of dedication and passion for their chosen studies. Every one of our graduates, along with all of those who have helped them along the path to this moment should feel rightly proud.”
David Wedge, Deputy Head of Alumni Relations, at the University, said: “Graduation is always an exciting time for the University and the city, as it turns into a sea of caps and gowns with students and staff proudly visible on the streets.
“Class of 2023 graduate successes will be celebrated on the University’s Alumni social media channels and graduates are invited to share photos, thank you messages and fond memories of their time at the University of Wolverhampton.
“Graduates will also receive a short video clip of their stage walk in the days following their ceremony – a lovely keepsake for them which they are able to share with family and friends and on their own social media channels.”
After graduation, graduates become members of the Alumni Association and are encouraged to keep in touch, to take advantage of a wide range of benefits and support on offer, including a discount for postgraduate study.
