Public and private transport in Telford is ideal for taking you out and about, with busestrains, cycle hire and Uber cabs available across the town and region. The University inter-campus bus is also in operation during term-time, taking you across our other campuses free of charge.  

Telford Central station is conveniently located just a short distance from the campus, providing convenient access to various exciting destinations such as Chester, Shrewsbury, Birmingham, and Aberystwyth.

Shrewsbury is within easy reach of Telford, and takes just 20 minutes by train. The town is a delightful blend of medieval charm and contemporary allure, with picturesque streets lined with timber-framed buildings and many historical and cultural landmarks to take in, including Shrewsbury Castle, St. Mary's Church and Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery.  

The town also boasts an array of independent shops and cozy cafés. We also recommend a scenic walk in The Quarry Park to visit the Dingle Gardens, a stroll along the River Severn, where you can rent a boat or canoe, or simply stop for a drink or bite to eat at any of the canal-side pubs or restaurants.

Chester, accessible by a direct train from Telford in under 90 minutes, is a picturesque city steeped in history. Visit Chester Cathedral, the Grosvenor Museum or walk Chester’s Roman City Walls to explore more about the city's storied past. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the historic Eastgate Clock right in the heart of the city, which has been in place since 1899.

London is our capital city where there is an endless array of things to do and discover. Reachable by a direct train in just over 2 hours and 15 minutes, it’s easy to explore in a single day.
