University shines with international high star rating
The University of Wolverhampton has been awarded a four-star overall rating by the QS stars awards system – shining a light on some exemplary student experience.
QS Stars is a rating system which was launched in 2009 and provides a detailed look at higher education institutions across the world, focusing on specific topics such as teaching, graduate employability, research, inclusiveness, and innovation.
The rating system assesses institutions more broadly than through rankings alone. With a Stars rating given in four categories and for the institution’s overall performance, QS Stars allows universities to highlight their areas of strength as well as recognise and improve upon areas of weakness.
Key areas of success for the University included internationalisation, employability, teaching, facilities and inclusiveness – all of which scored 5 Stars. The evaluation also offers an in-depth report on strengths and weaknesses, designed to improve performance and international brand recognition.
Sergine Monplé, Director of Global Opportunities at the University, said: “Achieving 4 stars in the QS stars audit instils confidence in prospective applicants and partners. This is a tremendous result given the increase in the number of areas where we obtained 5 stars.
“QS Stars has become a deciding factor for prospective students, particularly internationally, who use the scheme to help influence their choice of institution.
“It gives students an insight into universities across a range of measures and we’re particularly proud of the fact we scored five stars in teaching, employability, facilities, Internationalisation and Innovation.”
